After
the February 2-6 village stay in Bambalang, topics covered as the CAMeroon Branch Orientation program wrapped up included: Village Visit Debrief; Medical
Practice; Intro
to the Executive Committee; Team
Dynamics; Domestic
Employees; "Thriving
not Surviving" (Panel); Moral
Purity and Marriage Health; Living
Single in Cameroon (Panel); Religions
in Cameroon; Language
Learning; Security; Special
Potluck for Yaounde Friends; Money
Matters in Africa; and Optional
field trip to a local school.
On
Friday, February 16, CAMBO staff and participants did the program at F.R.O.G.
(Fully Rely On God) worship and devotionals. I helped compose a piggyback song,
“C-A-M-B-O” to the tune of “B-I-N-G-O” that five of us presented summarizing
learning experiences (many chuckles from veteran staff), and several
participants shared testimonies.
We
participants learned and adapted to Cameroon life in many ways…and ask your
prayers as we continue to transition to Cameroon and our respective assignments
in linguistics or supporting Bible translation.
